/Today in one of my classes (namely writing for the media) we were asked to conduct an interview on someone in the class sitting near us. The purpose of the exercise was to get us to write something in class to hone our skills. The questions we were to ask were ones that got us to know the other person better so this assignment had dual purposes. I tried to think of questions that would let me get to know my peer on a personal level and expand my knowledge of them beyond first name and colour of hair. What I came up with fell short of that mark. I asked where he grew up, where he would like to live, and what kind of cat or dog he would like to have. Those were the most insightful questions I could think of. But who knows, maybe in some way the knowledge that my classmate wants a small, brown terrier will help me get to know him on a deeper level. Hey, stranger things have happened.
